(Hong Kong, January 15, 2024) –China Risun Group Limited (“China Risun” or the “Group”, HKEX Stock Code: 1907), a leading global integrated producer and supplier of coke, coking chemicals, refined chemicals and related operation and management services in China, announced that its subsidiary Dingzhou Risun Hydrogen Energy has recently filed its 100,000-ton-a-year Dingzhou-Gaobeidian Hydrogen Long-distance Pipeline Project (the “Project”) with the Hebei Provincial Development and Reform Commission, meaning the first pure hydrogen long-distance pipeline project in Hebei is ready for operation.
The Project is in phase one of the Hebei south-north hydrogen main pipeline network plan. Able to transmit 100,000 tonnes of hydrogen a year, it starts at China Risun’s Dingzhou Production Base and ends at the Xinfadi Logistics Park in Gaobeidian City, running about 164.7 km through 11 cities, counties and districts namely Dingzhou, Tang County, Wangdu, Shunping, Mancheng, Jingxiu, Xushui, Dingxing, Laishui, Zhuozhou and Gaobeidian, with designed pressure at 4MPa and pipe diameter 508mm. It will be used to transmit high-purity hydrogen produced by the Group at controlled transmission cost of RMB0.4/kg per 100km. The main hydrogen pipeline network can help solve hydrogen supply and demand mismatch and promote new energy use in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.

At present, the Group has potential hydrogen resource reaching 3.5 billion cubic meters a year. As the coking capacity of the Group increases , and on the base of it having completed designing and deploying the main body and organizational structure of its hydrogen energy market, connecting the complete “production, storage, transportation, hydrogenation, use+research” chain, thereby is able to protect supply at source and keep supply steady, exploring "hydrogen ore" resources, scaling up hydrogen business and better assuring supply have become the main tasks of the Group in developing hydrogen energy. To this end, the Project has recently mainly relied on the clean, low-carbon, low-cost, and high-quality hydrogen source of Hebei Risun Energy Limited, which is in the New Material Industrial Park of Hebei Dingzhou High-tech Development Zone, to build an important hydrogen energy pipeline for the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region. In the medium term, there will be points on the pipeline reserved for linking up with and taking in “green hydrogen" from new energy sources in the vicinity of the pipeline, and for the pipeline to be extended from Gaobeidian to Beijing and Xiong'an. In the long run, pipeline extensions and [hydrogen refueling stations will be built to help the efficient construction of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Hydrogen Energy Corridor.
It is foreseeable that the construction of the Risun hydrogen pipeline will help effectively solve such problems as external supply and use of hydrogen resources in Dingzhou City, the single hydrogen transportation mode between the north and south of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region and the prevalently high transportation costs. The pipeline can also enable Risun to speed up growth of its hydrogen energy business, as well as foster hydrogen energy planning and implementation in various cities in Hebei Province, giving the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region the strength to realize energy transformation and upgrade.
